Patch of Denim takes me straight back to the ’70s and to the low-rise, bell-bottom jeans I wore as a teenager, a time that felt full of freedom, possibility, and self-expression. I wasn’t self-conscious in those jeans. I’m not sure why, but what a great way to BE!
When I remember them, I’m not sure how they even stayed on my hips, so I laugh when I see this painting. The spirit it carries for me is casual, playful, slightly rebellious, and free.
